  • New Homes: Buying a show home was my most convenient move ever

AS A working mum of 2, Thea Richford had to find a home she might settle directly into. The 46-year-old didn’t have time to remodel, remodel or replace, so when she viewed the show house at Cruden Homes Wester Lea advancement in Newtongrange, Midlothian, she took no persuasion to purchase it.

Thea, who works for a financial services company in Edinburgh, and lives with her two children, Allie, 18, and Neave 15, stated: We had been residing in a four-bedroom removed in Loanhead.

I’d been trying to find a house for about a year, till I was in a position to commit.

I’d always done something to the homes I’d lived in, like extending or doing additional work. This time I wanted something I might move into.

As I work full-time I didn’t have the time or inclination to purchase an older property. I needed something to stroll into.

When I saw the Edgelaw at Wester Lea, I liked the truth they were utilizing it as the show home and all I had to do was relocation in.

In buying a show home, Thea gained from a couple of added bonus. She said: They provided me a washering and integrated refrigerator freezer. The garden was turfed too.

Thea s three-bedroom, mid-terraced Edgelaw includes downstairs cloakroom/wc off the corridor, a living room and a fully incorporated cooking area/ dining space with French doors leading to the back garden. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and household bathroom. The development is a collection of 2 to four-bedroom terraced, semi-detached properties.

Dalkeith is nearby with its range of stores, clubs and restaurants, and Edinburgh 20 minutes by automobile another plus for Thea. Newtongrange station is also part of the Borders Railway route in between Edinburgh and Tweedbank.

Thea said: I’d been looking at houses in Midlothian and South Edinburgh and wanted somewhere that didn t include added travel time onto my already busy working week. My oldest child is at uni however I’m able to drop my daughter off at school and get the bus to work.

I like my brand-new house. It felt like home from the first day I relocated. I really like the big windows, and the heat that comes in through the windows when the sun shines is fantastic.
